The Anastasia D. Kelly Award
This award will honor a woman general counsel who has taken active steps to help other women become general counsel. The award is named for Anastasia Kelly, who was most recently Vice Chairman, Legal, Human Resources, Corporate Communications and Corporate Affairs at American International Group, Inc.
The Pamela L. Carter Award
This Award will be given to a former general counsel who currently heads a major business unit in a Fortune 100-sized company (public or private). Pamela Carter was General Counsel at Cummins, Inc. before becoming President of the Cummins Distribution Business.
The Economic Empowerment Awards (3)
One award will be presented jointly to a general counsel and woman partner in a law firm who have collaborated to increase the economic empowerment of women in that firm. Two awards will be presented to law firms based on the following criteria:
• Percentage of women on the executive or management committee
• Percentage of women on the equity partnership committee
• Number of women with books of business that exceed $1 million per year
• Percentage of women who are relationship managers
• Percentage of women on compensation committee
Michele Coleman Mayes, Senior Vice President, General Counsel & Chief Legal Officer, The Allstate Company, will co-chair the 2010 National Awards Committee along with Cathleen Flahardy, InsideCounsel magazine’s Editor- In-Chief. Along with a distinguished group of general counsel from leading corporations and partners at top law firms, they will participate in the selection of the 2010 winners.
